HISTORY OF THE SERENADE

The Imperial Serenade had initiate in May 1997 and was coordinate for Wilson Francisco Fagundes until Junho/2004.

It has as purpose rescue the good quality music and MPB's Great Names, carrying happiness, singing love of the prettier songs, and bring tourists for our dear Petrópolis.

There was not right location for the presentations, the which ones happened in the Cathedral of S. Pedro de Alcântara, Imperial Museum, Palace Rio Black, Pakácio of the Princess Isabel, Palace Koeler, Baron Mauá's Palace, City council, etc. Later it was affixed in the Crystal Palace, where even today happen to the presentations always all last Thursday of month at 8 pm. Also happens Christmas and Carnival in serenade.

In the carnival presentations in serenade, they are sung the gears hurt years 30, 40, etc..., and when necessary are counted the histories of these musics, the which ones are very interesting as well as to talk as it arose the carnival. presentations with duration of 2 are usually done (two) hours.

Christmas in serenade happens with seresta musics and/or serenade added of of christmas musics.

All the events have free admission, where the appreciative are recepcionados with a livreto contend the letters of all the musics that will be introduced by seresteiros.

We have in all events the support from Petrópolis' Municipal Prefecture through the Culture and Tourism Foundation, and of other collaborators companies.

To the leave from julho/2004, with 40 integrant, was created Seresteiros' Association of the Imperial Serenade, having as president the Mr. Odi Flávio Simas, which coordinates and governs the group and organizes all the events with the directory, through tels: Fax: (24) 2237-0209 Tel: (24) 2242-9225 and 2237-9795. Nowadays the group relies on 20 integrant between musicians, seresteiros and seresteiras. And the most interesting is that among all that personal of (most), third age, we have a youth who since the six years old accompanies us with your small guitar, and nowadays meets itself with 15 years old.
